About the Founder

Jonathan Villaire

Jonathan Villaire is a human resources leader committed to making work more just, more human, and more worth doing. Over the past two decades, he has built a broad, firsthand understanding of the working world through roles spanning front-line customer service, IT project management, HR consulting, and in-house HR leadership. His experience crosses multiple industries, including finance, insurance, and healthcare.

Jonathan has also written and spoken extensively about the modern workplace, with a particular focus on employees’ lived experience.

Throughout his career, Jonathan has seen HR function at its best and at its worst. He has witnessed thoughtful, progressive HR support that protects people and strengthens organizations. He has also seen the harm caused by unethical practices and a lack of accountability.

The HR Accountability Project reflects Jonathan’s mission to elevate the HR profession, protect workers, and create a pathway for HR professionals to act with integrity, credibility, and independence.

Jonathan is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), holds an MS in Organizational Leadership from Nichols College, a BA from Assumption University, and is currently pursuing his JD at Southwestern Law School.
